The Seminole County Young Lawyers Division was founded in 2007 with two simple goals: to instill in the young attorneys practicing in Seminole County the professionalism and experience to contribute to the success of its members for years to come, and as an organization in which its members can promote the well being of Seminole County through public service and charity.
Throughout its history, the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division has dedicated itself to serving the public good for Seminole County. This dedication to service is seen first-hand through the continuing relationship which the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division holds with the Boys and Girls Club of Sanford, Florida. Throughout the year, the members of the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division promote the growth of our leaders of tomorrow through a series of events designed to instill in the young students who attend the Boys and Girls Club of Sanford a passion for academic success, the Seminole County Young Lawyers aim to show students the importance of succeeding in school, and how that success will impact their future careers. These events include a bi-annual awards ceremony, recognizing those students who have had academic success in the previous semester. In 2011-2012, the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division will continue this relationship, and in addition, hold in conjunction with the academic-success events workshops for parents designed to provide them with basic guidance to legal problems they may be facing.
In addition to a commitment to community service, the Seminole County Young Lawyers division strives to promote the professional growth of its members through camaraderie and events focuses on expanding its members legal knowledge. In the fall, the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division invites all members and non-members to participate in a tour of the Seminole County Criminal Justice Center, which also includes a luncheon with the judiciary, to expose new attorneys to both the facilities and the legal leaders they will interact with throughout their careers. For 2011, the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division will also be presenting its "mentorship manual," designed to connect young attorney with experienced attorneys in the particular practice areas in which its members may practice. Additionally, the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division holds a series of social events, designed for its members to connect with other young attorneys, to hopefully build lifelong relationships and friendships as young attorneys begin their journeys as professionals.
